Mom Starts School Bus Fight

advertisement

A shocking story from Waukesha County: a mother gets into a fight on her daughter's school bus!

"The one girl, who we call the suspect in the matter, she felt that she had been teased or disrespected by the other girl," Brookfield Police Cpt. Phil Hortor said.

The suspect apparently called her mom, who showed up at the school, angry.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

"Angry" translates into hiting the girl and pulling her hair, apparently. Awesome parenting - way to set a good example.

I don't think it would be too much to assume that the daughter is a spoiled little princess at home and gets everything and anything she wants, or pretty frickin' close to that. Why else would you call your mom about it? I was teased in school, hell most kids are at some point, but my parents didn't act like that. They actually gave me advice on how to handle the situations, and what to do if it went beyond simple teasing.

Being a parent now myself I hope that I can do a better job with my daughter...

it's the duty of parents to advise their kids on such matters.

""Kids get into fights all the time, but I'm really surprised by the parents. You'd think that if the parent is going to interfere, it should be to try to diffuse the situation, not to make it worse," Jenae Noel said."

Ah, young naive Jenae. I remember when I used to think that people who took on the responsibility of parenting should be able to make intelligent decisions. I wish I hadn't seen so much evidence to the contrary since then.

Welcome to the big leagues Jenae. Lots of dumb people with kids here. Best of luck in dealing with them.

Also, the editor/writer of the article needs to get an English class going. I'm pretty sure they were looking for "defuse" instead of "diffuse" - two very different meanings. Not to turn it into a spelling nazi discussion, but if you're a journalist for a fairly large news organization, spelling and grammar become important.

Yeah, looks like there were 2 authors of this extensive and informative article: Melanie Stout & Katie DeLong. Seems like between the 2 and the editor they could have caught the mistake.

Agreed, important to use correct spelling especially when quoting someone for an article even if it is just the local news. These authors did not give Jenae her props when quoting her.

If mom was this close to the school, why didn't she pick her child up instead of allowing her to take the bus?

recently in a matriculation school nearby the principal had to arbiter between two mothers, the first one of the girl beaten and the second one of the girl who beat the other girl.
